Love & Carrots Urban Farm - Communications Manager

Position Description: 

The Communications Manager ensures that company operations and customer communication run smoothly at Love & Carrots. Working closely with the Executive team, the Communications Manager will craft the social media presence of the company and assist with the daily ins and outs of business operations. This includes logistics, email correspondence, billing, event scheduling, and more. The Communications Manager is relied upon as a support person for the Urban Farmers and also handles an array of administrative tasks.

Skill Requirements:
  • At least 1-year experience as an Office Manager, Marketing Associate, Social Media Manager, Outreach Coordinator, or similar position
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Highly organized and able to handle a full plate of important tasks
  • Detail-oriented; capable of managing logistics, able to manage a mobile staff
  • Website development experience
  • Commitment to being a solution-oriented and self-motivated in a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Thrive in a professional environment, even in situations without direct supervision
  • Use of own computer required
  • Use of own smartphone preferred
  • Current Driver's License (our Farm/Office is located in Oxon Hill, MD, so access to a vehicle is preferable).
  • An interest in plants, gardening, growing food, farming, agriculture, being outside, and/or appreciating nature a plus!
 Compensation:
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week; Monday-Friday and/or some possible weekend tabling events).
Provides yearly salary of $26,450 - $28,175 (we anticipate full-time work throughout the winter, however company-wide winter hiatus may mean less hours January - February).
Opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
Health Insurance Coverage after 60 days of full time employment.
