Versar, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist to work in at our Camp Springs, MD location.

Responsibilities:

Provide on-site support for a full range of advisory and assistance services supporting the DoD client. Provide technical support in areas, including environmental program management, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) project management, installation development planning, and environmental baseline survey for the ANG at both the headquarter and base level. Monitor and audit client operations on a regular basis to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Prepare and submit written recommendations and necessary government paperwork to the management and interface with regulatory agencies, as required.
Requirements3+ years of experience with managing and reviewing NEPA documents, Phase I and II Environmental and Baseline Surveys, and CERCLA and RCRA investigation and remediation reports, including Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS)
Ability to display strict attention to detail for quality assurance, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requests as tasks evolve.
5+ years of experience in a consulting role related to environmental science or policy
Ability to work independently and within a team setting
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word
BA or BS degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Policy
Experience in working directly with state and federal environmental agencies
Ability to obtain a security clearance
