Description:
Contech is seeking a Stormwater Design Technician to join our Hanover, MD team. The Stormwater Design Technician will perform basic design along with full CAD support for projects and provide technical support to a specific region.
Duties:
- Work with custom programs to create detailed drawings and bills of material to be used in the manufacture and installation of our products.
- Utilize applications such as AutoCAD, Inventor and Excel on a daily basis in completing drawings to meet project deadlines.
- Efficiently produce accurate drawings for review and approval by design engineers.
- Review site plans, design information and specifications to determine critical dimensions of design.
- Provides project specific design services – including review of project plans, developing product solutions, preparation of submittal drawings and calculations – to assist the design engineers and field sales team with integration and acceptance of Contech’s products into site plans.
- Put together value engineering proposal packages.
- Maintain Contech’s engineering and CAD standards and procedures.
- Perform calculations to produce design information necessary to create Fabrication drawings.
- Ensure pertinent information is accurately entered into the CRM database.
- Utilize information from site plans and engineering specifications to develop drawings.
- Provide project support to Customer Solutions Coordinators and Project Coordinators for projects in the Order stage.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 Year Associates Degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret site plans -- knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the civil engineering field.
- Strong technical skills including an academic background in AutoCAD and proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD. Working knowledge of Inventor program a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong math skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail in conditions that may pose frequent changes, delays, and/or unexpected events.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, technical manuals, and engineering concepts.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation.
