Agriculture Program Directer - The Campbell Foundation

Location:  Annapolis, MD

Description: 
The Keith Campbell Foundation for the Environment’s Chesapeake Initiative is seeking a talented and experienced Program Director, Agriculture Program.  This position plays a key role in the evolution and implementation of the Agriculture Program in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, especially in Lancaster and Delmarva, and focuses on creating common ground between highly diverse stakeholders such as our grantees, business interests, farmers, decision‐makers and the community at large.

Duties: 
  • The founding and evolution of 360° stakeholder driven, consensus‐based, problem‐ solving groups
  • Leveraging of emerging consumer preferences and supply chain mechanisms
  • Development of, and trials for promising new technologies and methods that help to support on‐farm performance while enabling changes that yield environmental benefits
Qualifications: 
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing a program with a mission of sustained environmental focus with multiple, diverse stakeholders, with 3+ years in an executive position such as Vice President or Program Director
  • Proven track record in developing, and managing direct reports to improve their productivity and capabilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in relevant field

  • Very well organized with outstanding project management capabilities
  • Strong ability to translate strategy into day‐to‐day planning
  • Ability to absorb new information quickly and include it in effective implementation adjustments
  • Deep interest in diverse points of view, meeting new people, exploring new perspectives and challenging current thinking with the ability to create new common ground
