Description:
In this position, we are looking for a candidate who is a well-rounded professional who has the ability to perform a wide range of both field and office types of activities. Field activities would include, but not limited to, the collection of water, soil, and sediment samples with experience in packaging for delivery to analytical laboratories and preparation of appropriate documentation; experience in the collection of biological samples including fish, macrobenthos, and plant specimens; and experience in providing oversight of field activities performed by other professionals. Office activities that the successful candidate should have experience in includes, but not limited to, performance of information retrieval from public sources and literature searches; experience assisting in the assessment of chemical and biological information to be used in environmental risk and other assessments; data analysis, report preparation, as well as other related consulting experience.
Qualifications:
- M.S. in Ecology, Biology, Oceanography, Ecotoxicology, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences or other related field
- Two-five (or more) years of experience in Ecological Science
- Experience in use of field equipment for collection of water, soil, and sediment samples as well as fish, macrobenthos and plants
- Experience in being part of multidisciplinary teams
- An outstanding reputation for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel for work related activities
- HAZWOPER (40 hour) training, with appropriate 8-hour refreshers
- Small boat experience desired
- Excellent writing and critical thinking skills
