Human, Animal, & Environmental Health Strategic Initiative Kick-Off Event (Sept. 5)

Here's a fun way to kick off your fall semester, the Human, Animal, & Environmental Health Strategic Initiative Kick-Off Event is happening Wednesday, September 5th from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Stamp! 

AGNR Strategic Intiatives:

  • The goal of this program is to help improve health standards for people, animals, and the environment. The goal is to accomplish our health improvement initiative by...
  • Improving animal and human health by reducing disease transmission between animals and humans.
  • Advancing ecosystem health in a changing world.
  • Reducing chronic diseases in animals and humans.
  • Analyzing environmental, agricultural, and health policy and informing decision makers
  • Promoting and supporting healthy and livable communities through education
  • This is one of five intiatives put into place by the University of Maryland College of Agricutlure and Natural Resources. The intiatives reflect and encompass the University's mission to provide excellent Research, Academics, and Extension.
  • Our Keynote speaker is Adele Turzillo, USDA National Institute of Food and Agricutlure. She will be speaking about "Leveraging Strengths and Facilitating Transdiciplinary Approaches to Improve Human, Animal, and Environmental Health."

Event Schedule: 

3:00 p.m. - Welcome and introduction of keynote speaker (Leslie Pick, HAEH Co-Chair)

3:15 - 4:05 p.m. - Keynote Talk: "Leveraging Strengths and Facilitating Transdiciplinary Approaches to Improve Human, Animal, and Environmental Health." (Adele Turzillo, USDA National Insitutue of Food and Agriculture)

4:15 - 4:30 p.m. - HAEH Seed Grant Announcement (Chad Stahl, HAEH Co-Chair)

4:30 - 6:00 p.m. - Wine & Cheese Social and Networking
