Entry Level Building Energy Efficiency Professional - The Cadmus Group

Location:  Arlington, VA

Description:  
The Cadmus Group LLC seeks a highly-motivated entry-level professional to provide program support on energy-efficient building technologies, policy, communications, and building energy performance measurement systems for our clients. This position involves extensive work with EPA’s ENERGY STAR® program for commercial and multifamily buildings.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented problem solver with strong analytical, communications, and writing skills interested in a career in energy efficiency, energy education, and sustainability-related programs and policies. The position involves handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Duties:  
  • Providing research, writing, and analytical support for topics related to energy efficiency in the built environment
  • Providing ENERGY STAR technical support to organizations (in both the public and private sectors)
  • Supporting ENERGY STAR recognition programs, including event support and materials development
  • Working with EPA’s ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager® tool to assist with benchmarking building energy, water, and waste use, and answer technical questions.
  • Working with large data sets, data analytics, and basic statistical analysis
  • Other work may include supporting training sessions (primarily online), and writing or editing reports, case studies, presentations and other documents, creating and manipulating spreadsheets and databases, and collecting and interpreting large data sets
Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA degree (Environmental Science, Public Policy, Facility/Building Operations, Economics, or related field preferable, but may be substituted by at least four years of experience in a related field)
  • 0 to 2 years of related work or internship experience in addition to education or work experience required
  • A passion for energy efficiency, sustainability, and related topics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complicated concepts and processes succinctly
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, and Excel VBA
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Comfortable presenting over the phone and in front of live audiences, or willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well independently and in teams
